RECI Recruits Five Mobile Medical Units for Remote Healthcare in Uttarakhand

Rajasthan Electric Corporation Limited (REC), a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power, has sanctioned ₹ 6.01 crore from its CSR initiative to deploy five Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) in the state of Uttarakhand. The initiative falls under REC Foundation's 'Doctor Aapke Dwaar' program and is collaborated with CSC Academy.

The units were inaugurated by Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, along with Health Minister Shri Dhan Singh Rawat and senior officials from the Health Department, REC and CSC Academy. Out of five MMUs, two each will operate in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar, while one unit will be based in Tehri Garhwal, focusing on underserved regions.

Each unit will function six days a week, providing free diagnostic and treatment services to patients in these rural areas. One of the MMUs is exclusively dedicated to women's healthcare and staffed entirely by female medical professionals, catering to improving access to quality care for women in remote communities.

This initiative aims to enhance access to quality care in rural Uttarakhand as it operates in harmony with district CMOs and the state Health Department. The project aligns with the state’s 'Swasth Uttarakhand, Samriddh Uttarakhand' vision, reflecting REC's commitment towards improving rural healthcare and inclusive growth.

The state has already seen success of this program similar to Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu & Punjab.
