RCB, Punjab Kings Announce Key Comeback as IPL 2025 Kicks Off

MUMBAI: Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood is all set to make a highly anticipated return to India as the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 resumes after a week-long suspension. According to sources close to the team, Hazlewood will travel to India soon but no specific date has been announced yet.

Hazlewood's departure from India was triggered by a week-long halt in the tournament amidst rising tensions between India and Pakistan. However, following a ceasefire, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that the tournament will resume on May 17 with the final slated for June 3.

The return of Hazlewood, who took 18 wickets in just 10 matches last season, is expected to boost Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) prospects significantly. His injury scare has been a major concern for the team, but his arrival will provide a much-needed boost ahead of the World Test Championship final.

Hazlewood's signing, however, takes place as Australia duo Marcus Stoinis and Josh Inglis set to join Punjab Kings (PBKS). However, their availability remains uncertain with both players involved in international commitments. They are expected to be available from the second leg onwards, although their exact joining date has not been confirmed yet.

It is also worth noting that Australian fast bowler Marco Jansen, Xavier Bartlett, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Mitchell Owen are scheduled to join PBKS starting May 17. The latest development brings a new wave of excitement to the highly anticipated IPL 2025 season, which kicks off on May 17 with several high-stakes matches lined up.

As the big teams prepare for the thrilling tournament ahead, fans can expect a lot of action and suspenseful games on TV screens across the globe. Stay tuned as we bring you all the latest updates and news from the world of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
