Rain Showers Linger, But Calmer Skies on the Horizon

SEATTLE, WA - A break from the relentless rain showers is expected this morning, but wet weather will return by afternoon with highs reaching mid- to upper 40s.

Ocean beachgoers can prepare for a blustery afternoon with gusts between 20 and 40 mph, while those heading to the mountains should brace themselves for another heavy dumping of snow above 3,500 feet. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the Cascades until Sunday morning, making the passes extremely hazardous due to 4 to 10 inches of new snow.

Sunday is expected to be calmer, with a few sunbreaks in the afternoon, although some showers are not ruled out. Highs will still reach the upper 40s and lower 50s.

A quiet weather pattern is anticipated for most of next week, bringing morning fog and hazy afternoon sunshine. Temperatures will remain steady in the mid- to upper 40s, providing a welcome respite from the ongoing wet weather.

As of Saturday morning, the KOMO 4Cast Team projects a series of mild and cloudy days, offering a brief reprieve from the rain showers that have plagued the region for weeks.
