Toronto's University Takes the Crown in QS Sustainability Rankings, India Showcases Strong Academic Growth
The QS World University Rankings has released its latest rankings for the world's leading institutions, and the sustainability showdown is getting more fierce than ever. The top spot belongs to none other than the prestigious University of Toronto with a score of 100, making it the go-to destination for anyone looking to save Mother Nature.
Coming closely behind at number two is ETH Zurich with an impressive score of 99.6. No surprise here as these Swiss superstars have long been known for their commitment to environmental and social responsibility. This top spot is made even sweeter by Toronto's overall high performance across the board.
And it's not just Zurich taking center stage; Sweden takes two spots with Lund University and UCL London following closely behind at number three, alongside California. UCL London's incredible score of 98.6 pushes them right up there in sustainability rankings, as well!
London's not done yet, however - Imperial College comes next at a cool score of 98.4, placing it smack dab in the top seven for our very green list! Not far behind are London (for the second time, we know!) Edinburgh and Melbourne - tying up nicely like that at rank eight for you with their joint-scoring prowess on hand.
Now a quick peek to what makes these stellar institutions so special; they all get graded based off three key areas:
- Impact on environment
- Positive social influence
- The extent to which institutions are held in high esteem by society
It's this trifecta that takes you the next step and allows us to have a complete view of these great achievements. India made waves with notable leaps from previous ranks; particularly our national powerhouse Delhi saw improvements from rank 426 in global academic stature up one mighty leap! It stands proud at number one hundred seventy, breaking records.
Indian pride shows off when we see Kharagpur jump by an impressive two hundred fifteen spots and put on a stellar performance as well! What these numbers reveal is the immense potential for Indian institutions. It does not show just the rise but growth of academic excellence that it has. With continued efforts across IIT Delhi & Bombay- they can leap even higher!
