Prime Video Unveils New Dance Series Waack Girls Promising Unique Storyline
New Delhi, Nov 12 (PTI) - Prime Video has announced its latest addition to its lineup, a new dance series titled "Waack Girls," written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sooni Taraporevala. The nine-episode series will go live on Prime Video from November 22, just in time the festive season.
The story revolves around six dancers who come together to create a dance group in Kolkata that specializes in waacking, an unconventional dance style. The group, aptly named 'Waack Girls,' aims to step into the spotlight despite being unknowns in the world of dance. Taraporevala drew inspiration from Mekhola Bose's energetic performance and crafted a story that is both fun and inspiring.
What sets this series apart is its focus on the unique struggles and problems each dancer faces, making it relatable to audiences worldwide. The series boasts talented casts including Mekhola Bose, Anasua Chowdhury, Rytasha Rathore, Chrisann Pereira, Priyam Saha, Ruby Sah, Achintya Bose, Barun Chanda, Lillete Dubey, and the late Nitesh Pandey.
