PM Narendra Modi chairs advisory board meeting to position India as global entertainment hub: WAVES summit

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a crucial virtual meeting on February 7, 2025, with the Advisory Board of WAVES, a global summit that brings together the world of entertainment, creativity, and culture.
The meeting, held via video conference, aimed to position India as a global entertainment hub. The Prime Minister engaged in a fruitful discussion with top professionals and industry leaders from India and around the world, who are part of the Advisory Board of WAVES Summit.
WAVES is an annual gathering that celebrates India's creative and media economy by launching several initiatives, including the Create in India Challenge, Season 1. The summit, which began on February 5, 2025, features several 'challenges' aimed at fostering innovation and creativity in various sectors of entertainment.
The Prime Minister held virtual discussions with prominent figures from the Indian entertainment industry, including Bollywood icons Amitabh Bachchan, Diljit Dosanjh, Rajinikanth, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Chiranjeevi, Anil Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, and Anupam Kher. He also conversed with music maestro AR Rahman.
Modi engaged in discussions with business leaders such as Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, and Mahindra & Mahindra Chairperson Anand Mahindra, among others.
The meeting marked an important step towards making India a global entertainment hub. With initiatives like the Create in India Challenge, WAVES aims to amplify India's creative and media economy on the international stage.
