PM Modi's 'One Nation, One Election' System Crucial for India's Progress: Union Minister Rijiju
Union Ministry has emphasized the significance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for "One Nation, One Election," with a system that aims to hold elections every five years, followed by uninterrupted work. According to reports, this proposal will be presented in Parliament in the upcoming session.
Addressing on potential reforms, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said, "Our nation is one entity, and only then can we achieve our aspirations - for this single electoral process should apply uniformly across the country."
In an interview released earlier today, Rijiju pointed out that the proposed system was key to moving forward with the country's progress. He also suggested that 2024-29 elections would likely have a significant impact on India's policies.
Speaking about future reform efforts, Kiren said, "On November 25, our Parliament session will introduce multiple bills and focus discussions on major issues including this."
Further emphasis is put on adopting unified voting system in line with the vision of 'One Nation, One Election.'
Key reforms are anticipated for India as Rijiju stated that in order to progress, elections must happen every five years, followed by uninterrupted work.
