Only PM Modi, Trump, Putin, and China Matter on World Forum: DLF's Chairman Emeritus K P Singh Speaks Out

In an exclusive interview with Moneycontrol, Kushal Pal Singh, Chairman Emeritus of DLF, the country's largest real estate developer, shared his vision for India's future and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi as one of the four top leaders that matter at the world level.

India is rapidly progressing and poised to become the world's third-largest economy after the United States of America and China in the next few years, according to Singh. He attributes this growth to Indian leadership, which has changed the country's image on a global level.

Regarding urban infrastructure, Singh expresses his concern over the poor state of urban planning, blaming it for rising pollution and toxic air in Delhi NCR. He calls for "drastic measures" in master-planning as course correction and replacement of "myopic thinking" with long-term planning to create surplus for better and sustainable urban infrastructure planning.

Singh also highlights the importance of sustainable building practices, stating that green and sustainable buildings are the way forward. DLF has been awarded international honors for its green and sustainable practices, and Singh commends the government's efforts in providing incentives for green buildings.

For young entrepreneurs looking to make a mark in real estate, Singh advises them to "think 100 percent compliant of laws," plan and pay taxes, and test their market. He emphasizes the importance of ethics and moral values in business philosophy, stating that his company never cut corners to make money at the expense of others.

When asked about his biggest achievement, Singh recounts the record-breaking purchase of land by farmers on a payable basis over 10-12 years, which took him 10 years to gain their confidence. He considers this achievement as his greatest legacy, surpassing even the best in achieving his goals.

These words from DLF's Chairman Emeritus offer valuable insights into India's rapid growth, urban infrastructure needs, and the importance of sustainable building practices. The future looks bright with visionaries like Singh leading the way.
