Only PM Modi, Trump, Putin and China Matter on the World Forum: DLF’s Chairman Emeritus KP Singh
New Delhi, Dec 2023: India's rapid progress towards becoming the world's third-largest economy is largely attributed to its transformation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, says KP Singh, Chairman Emeritus of DLF, the country's largest real estate developer.
In an exclusive interview with Moneycontrol, Singh praises PM Modi as one of the four top leaders that matter on the world stage, alongside Donald Trump (US President), Vladimir Putin (President of Russia), and Chinese President Xi Jinping. He believes India's leadership has changed the country's image globally, driving growth and transforming it into a major economic powerhouse.
Singh attributes India's transformation to both government policies and the talent and hard work of Indian entrepreneurs and workers. The IMF and World Bank have projected that in the next four years, India will surpass America and China as the world's third-largest economy, marking a significant milestone in India's journey towards becoming a global economic power.
Singh also highlights the significance of sustainable and green building practices in real estate, calling for drastic measures to addressIndia's pressing urban infrastructure and pollution issues. He emphasizes the need for master-planning, long-term thinking, and replacing myopic thinking with big-picture planning to create surplus and drive growth in India's urban infrastructure sector.
On advice for young entrepreneurs looking to make a mark in real estate, Singh stresses the importance of complying with laws, paying taxes, and being mindful of market tests. He also emphasizes the value of ethics and moral values in business philosophy, advising DLF's new breed of developers to adopt good practices and avoid cutting corners.
Looking back on his achievements, Singh highlights his role in winning over farmers' confidence to buy land, which was achieved through consolidation efforts. This notable feat earned him recognition as a record-breaker in the world, with a legacy that surpasses the best.
DLF's Chairman Emeritus has also recently released his second book, 'Why the Heck Not?', co-authored by Aparna Jain. The book chronicles Singh's journey through one of India's most ambitious real estate transformations and offers valuable insights into India's growth story.
