Only PM Modi, Trump, Putin and China Matter on the World Forum: DLF’s Chairman Emeritus, KP Singh
New Delhi, [Current Date]: India is rapidly progressing and is poised to become the world's third largest economy after the United States of America and China in the next few years. According to Kushal Pal Singh, Chairman Emeritus of DLF, the country's largest real estate developer, this rapid progress can be attributed to India's leadership which has transformed the country's image on a global level.
Singh, who recently turned 95 and released his second book "Why the Heck Not?", praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi as one of the top four leaders that matter at the world level, alongside US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Chinese President Xi Jinping. He stated, "These four are on high table today and they all matter so much".
Singh also emphasized the importance of India's economic growth and transformation in the real estate sector over the years. "Most of the old builders are either in jail or on bail or bankrupt," he said, highlighting the emergence of a new era of developers who comply with the Real Estate Regulatory Authority law.
The country's urban infrastructure is another area that requires significant improvement. Singh urged for radical changes, saying, "Poor wrong urban infrastructure is breathing poison every day due to bad AQI (air quality). It needs drastic measures". He cited long-term planning over myopic thinking as key strategies to tackle the issue.
In addition, sustainable green building practices have become a crucial aspect of the real estate industry. Singh credited progressive developers and authorities for doing well on this front and praised the government for giving incentives.
When asked about advice for young entrepreneurs in the real estate sector, Singh suggested that they must think 100% compliant with laws, pay taxes on time, and test the market before making any major decisions. He also emphasized the importance of ethics and moral values in business philosophy.
Singh's journey, spanning over five decades, has been marked by numerous achievements, including winning the confidence of farmers to buy land in excess of 1000 acres.
