Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's Vietnam Visit Photo Debunked as Old Post from 2023

Hong Kong, Dec 15, 2023 - A photoshopped image of Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang surfaced on Chinese social media platforms claiming that he got drunk in the streets of Vietnam after "losing the China market" to a Chinese investigation into the Silicon Valley-based chipmaker's alleged anti-monopoly law violations.

However, recent reports have revealed that the photo is an old picture taken by Vietnam's consul general in San Francisco, USA on December 10, 2023, during Huang's first visit to Vietnam in 2023. This dispels claims that Huang was spotted getting intoxicated in Vietnam after the Chinese government launched an investigation into Nvidia.

According to sources close to the matter, the old photo was taken nearly a year ago and has been making rounds on social media platforms in China, allegedly as part of a smear campaign against Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. However, it now appears that the claims are nothing but an attempt to tarnish the company's reputation and draw attention away from its rapidly advancing market value.

Nvidia's stock price has indeed skyrocketed since their extensive research into AI-based GPUs, making the graphics unit-manufacturing company one of the highest valued companies in the world. Meanwhile, the investigation by China into Nvidia is ongoing, with concerns expressed over potential sanctions against the US-based chipmaker.

It remains to be seen how this will affect Nvidia's performance and stock value going forward.

In a statement released earlier today, NVIDIA Inc. confirmed that CEO Jensen Huang visited Vietnam in December last year but clarified that it was for official business purposes only.
