Northern Region CII Summit Charts Course for Punjab as India's Next IT Hub

Chandigarh: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on Friday brought together prominent visionaries, technology experts, and industry leaders at its Northern Region Headquarters in Chandigarh to explore the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Web3, and emerging enterprise technologies.
The one-day summit featured an array of panel discussions, exclusive dialogues, and networking interactions aimed at shaping Punjab's destiny as a future-ready IT and technology hub. A plethora of industry stalwarts gathered to discourse on how small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) and startups can thrive in a digitally revolutionizing landscape, particularly in the state.
The inaugural session 'Future of AI, Web3 and Enterprise Tech and Way Forward' discussed the rapid development of AI and decentralized technologies while emphasizing their significant implications. Experts panellists including Harjeet Gulati, Komal Sharma Talwar, Rohit Ajmani, and Puneet Agarwal engaged in a thought-provoking discussion.
Further, an intimate conversation session between Finvasia India Pvt Ltd's Chairman Sarvjeet Singh Virk and Rishi Mohan Bhatnagar, Co-founder and Global CTO of AA2IT India Pvt Ltd, brought into light the transformative power of generative AI on business operations.
Another engaging topic explored in 'Maximizing SME and Startup Potential Through Cutting-Edge Tech' was moderated by Sanjiv Sethi. The summit featured valuable insights from key players at SAP India, AWS, CDIL, Deloitte among others.
Finally, in the evening's main session titled 'Positioning Punjab as India’s Next IT and Technology Hub', prominent figures including Sarvjeet Singh Virk, CII Mohali Chairman Vivek Kapoor, CII Punjab Chairman Amit Jain, and Kamal Kishor Yadav, Administrative Secretary – Industries, Commerce, Investment Promotion and Information Technology (IT), Government of Punjab shed light on building robust digital ecosystems.
Speaking at the summit, KK Yadav pointed out that Punjab's IT ambitions are grounded in real capabilities. With targeted policies, robust talent pipelines, and active industry collaboration, he opined, "We are well equipped to build a robust digital ecosystem."
