Rajouri, Jan 15 (Alarian): The residents of Thanamendi tehsil in Rajouri district have a reason to rejoice with the inauguration of a brand new Primary Health Centre (PHC) building. The state-of-the-art facility has finally replaced the old and outdated PHC building that was struggling to meet the demands of the local population due to its congested nature.
According to Dr. Sageer Anjum, Zonal Medical Officer, who oversaw the inauguration, "The old PHC building faced numerous challenges as it was a cramped area with restricted working space. However, our new facility has greatly upgraded the patient flow and offers an extensive range of modern medical services."
Some of the key features of the new PHC building include digital X-ray facilities, ultrasound services that are conducted every Thursday, a dedicated dental section, and functional X-ray units.
"This marks a significant milestone in providing quality healthcare to the residents of Thanamandi tehsil," said Dr. Anjum. "We will strive to offer 24/7 service to cater to the ever-increasing demands of our patients."
Located in the picturesque hills of Rajouri district, Thanamandi tehsil has been a remote and inaccessible area until the new PHC building came into operation. Prior to its establishment, residents had to travel for miles, often facing treacherous roads and harsh weather conditions, to access advanced medical care.
The strategic location of the hospital along the Mughal Road connecting Poonch to Rajouri has also made it an essential stopover for pilgrims and travelers carrying out sacred journeys to nearby shrines.
With its expected 200 daily OPD patient footfalls, this state-of-the-art PHC building is now poised to bring transformative medical services to millions of residents in the region.
