New Delhi, [Date] - Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi was the venue for the 73rd All India Police Athletic Cluster Championship, which commenced on Sunday. The event saw the participation of 1,123 police personnel from 25 states, four union territories, and 10 Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), competing in a variety of athletic and cycling events.

The championship was officially opened by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, who highlighted the significance of sports in the lives of police personnel. "Sports not only enhance physical fitness but also instill discipline and teamwork, which are crucial attributes for our police forces," Saxena remarked during his inaugural address.

The highlight of the opening day was the 10km run, where Uttar Pradesh Police's Prince Kumar clinched the gold in the men's category, while Ujala triumphed in the women's category. This championship served as more than just a sporting event; it was a platform for fostering camaraderie and competition among law enforcement officers from across India.

An official from the event stated, "This championship is not merely about athletic achievements but also about showcasing the spirit of teamwork and discipline inherent in our police forces."

The event, organized by Delhi Police under the banner of the All India Police Sports Control Board, featured competitions in 45 athletic events and seven cycling events. It provided an opportunity for police personnel to not only compete but also to exchange ideas and enhance inter-force relations.
