NEW CHIEF JUSTICE-THEATRE BEGINS:Justice Sanjiv Khanna Sworn-in as India's 51st CJI

In a ceremonial turn of events, President Droupadi Murmu will administer the oath to Justice Sanjiv Khanna, marking his induction as the 51st Chief Justice of India, at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, at 10:00 AM today.
As per established protocol, outgoing CJI Justice DY Chandrachud has formally recommended Justice Khanna as his successor. The Centre had earlier confirmed Justice Khanna's appointment on October 24. This marked the culmination of a ceremonial farewell ceremony for Justice Chandrachud, who held office till November 8, being his last working day.
This handing over marks a significant milestone in India's Judicial System and underscores the commitment to ensuring its impartiality and integrity. As new Chief Justice takes charge, all eyes will be on him to set the tone and ensure smooth functioning of the judiciary in the country.
