NESN NATION SET TO REVOLUTIONIZE BOSTON SPORTS FANS' VIEWING EXPERIENCE WITH NEW FAST CHANNEL NATIONAL D Distribution

Boston, MA - In a bid to further expand its reach and engagement with fans of the Boston Red Sox and Bruins, NESN is gearing up to launch NESN Nation, a fast (free, ad-supported streaming TV) channel to be distributed nationally across various platforms.

"We're super excited about this initiative," said David Wisnia, NESN's new president and CEO, who joined the network a month ago. "Our team has been working tirelessly to bring this service to market, and we're confident it will revolutionize the way Boston sports fans watch their teams."

The nationwide launch of NESN Nation is part of Wisnia's strategic plan to harness new distribution models and expand its reach beyond traditional pay-TV subscribers. Industry projections indicate that FAST channels have generated an estimated $4.5 billion in revenue, up from approximately $2.6 billion in 2021.

"To stay ahead of the curve and attract a younger audience, we're constantly experimenting with new strategies," said Wisnia. "NESN Nation is just one example of our commitment to innovation. We're approaching a variety of digital players, including Roku and Samsung TV, to explore distribution possibilities."

The NESN Nation FAST channel aims to deliver an exciting viewing experience for Red Sox and Bruins fans, featuring a mix of live games, highlights, analysis, and exclusive content.

"We believe that sports has the power to build community and create unforgettable experiences," said Wisnia. "Our goal is to maximize revenue while continuing to provide value to our fans through innovative content and platforms."

A veteran media executive with stints at Fox Sports, CBS, and MGM Studios under his belt, Wisnia succeeds Sean McGrail, who stepped down after 40 years of service at NESN.

"We're committed to maintaining the legacy pay-TV businesses while embracing digital growth," said Wisnia. "Our partnership with MVPDs will continue to be paramount, but we see an opportunity to control what we can control – our content – and drive value within our digital ecosystem."

Additional details about NESN Nation's launch will be disclosed in the coming weeks.
