National Law Day Celebrated at NMIMS Chandigarh Campus
The University of New India Management School (NMIMS), Chandigarh, marked an occasionous National Law Day with a comprehensive series of enriching activities designed to empower law students and foster a deeper understanding of the legal profession.
On this momentous occasion, Mr. Nitin Potdar, a celebrated corporate lawyer with expertise in mergers and acquisitions, delivered a highly informative keynote address titled “Challenges & Opportunities for Law Students”. The session was filled with valuable career guidance, practical insights into navigating the legal profession, and an insightful look at the evolving landscape of law. This inspired interaction encouraged dialogue among students on various topics such as career focus, confidence-building for interviews, and specialized legal fields.
To further instill a passion for debate and negotiation skills amongst young students, NMIMS Chandigarh also hosted an engaging Mock Parliament session focused on "One Nation, One Election", a significant issue in the context of India's election system. In excess of 60 enthusiastic participants joined this simulated parliamentary debate, comprising two competing teams that passionately discussed their perspectives on the contentious issue. The dynamic discussion showcased students' skills in political discourse and legal argumentation.
NMIMS Chandigarh’s faculty played a pivotal role in orchestrating this event, guiding it with unwavering support. Esteemed Director In-Charge of SVKM’s NMIMS Chandigarh, Prof. (Dr.) Rashmi Khorana Nagpal led the efforts alongside Assistant Professors Ms. Meenu Duggala and Mr. Gantav Gupta. Their diligent support ensured a compelling and engaging celebration that equipped students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skill-building moments.
