Nation Greets Happy New Year from President Murmu, PM Modi
New Delhi:President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended their warm greetings to the nation on Wednesday, wishing everyone a very happy and prosperous new year in 2025.
In messages posted on X, the President appealed to citizens to renew their commitment to work together to create a brighter, more inclusive, and sustainable future for India and the world. "Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year! May the year 2025 bring joy, harmony, and prosperity to all," she said.
The Prime Minister also greeted his fellow Indians at the start of a new year, expressing hope that 2025 brings new opportunities and success to all. "May this year bring everyone new opportunities, success and endless joy. May everybody be blessed with wonderful health and prosperity," he tweeted.
For their part, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh too took to the social media platform to extend felicitations to various sections of society. Union Road Transport & Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari also posted a message wishing a joyful and prosperous 2025 to all.
Even several other leaders from across parties extended their wishes on X, including Chief Minister of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Mayawati who wished for happiness, prosperity, and good health for everyone.
The nation welcomed new year 2025 with various celebrations. People prayed at temples and offered gifts, while many took to the streets to celebrate with friends and acquaintances.
