Narayanansamy Slams Modi Regime, Hails Congress' Solidarity with Nation

MADURAI,Dec 10: Former Pondicherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy on Sunday expressed his support for the Indian National Congress (INC), citing their unwavering stance against terrorism following the recent Pahalgam terror attack.

Narayanasamy, who attended a meeting in Tirunelveli, took a shot at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's previous accusations against the Congress government during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. As Chief Minister of Gujarat, Modi had criticized the Congress Union government for their alleged handling of the atrocity.

Addressing the gathering, Narayanasamy asserted that despite being on the target of criticism from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA in the past, the INC has "rightly stood by the nation" during these trying times. Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge and senior leader Rahul Gandhi were seen extending full support to the Union government in battling terrorism.

This remarkable display of unity and solidarity from the opposition party is a testament to its maturity and commitment to fighting the evil forces of terror," Narayanasamy said.

The former Union minister urged everyone to stand together to uphold peace and fight against terrorism, drawing a parallel between Prime Minister Modi's calls to unity during times of distress. "Both can be said with one hand tied behind his back, it is his hypocrisy which has earned him this position today. He is more of an arsonist, he only speaks for himself," Narayanasamy said

This remark came as a strong critique of the prime minister's policy on terrorism, and was seen as a veiled attack by opposition party.
