Nagpur Delegation from Malta Explores New Opportunities for Bilateral Collaboration with Vidarbha Businesses

A high-level delegation from the Republic of Malta arrived in Nagpur yesterday to explore opportunities for new collaborations with businesses in Vidarbha. The team was led by Governor General International Organisation for Diplomatic Relations (IODR) Lello Marra, and included International Secretary Marcello Patti and Correspondent Diplomat Afzal Mitha.

According to a press release issued later, the delegation is looking into various sectors such as eco-tourism, marine-adventure tourism, resort development, digital tourism platforms, and cultural and academic exchanges for potential partnerships with Vidarbha businesses.

During their visit, the delegates were taken to the Pench forest reserve in Amravati district, where they were reportedly impressed by the region's natural beauty. Malta has traditionally been a tourist-based economy, but it is now considering exploring new opportunities beyond its own borders, including marketing the forests of Vidarbha as an exciting destination for tourists visiting India and Europe.

"We may also look into promoting jungle safaris in India among our tourists," said Mitha during a press conference with local media representatives. "Our aim is to not only promote Vidarbha but also explore new opportunities for our businesses."

The visit highlights the growing importance of Vidarbha as a tourism destination, thanks in part to recent infrastructure developments such as the Samruddhi Expressway. Local businessmen were optimistic about the potential benefits of increased tourism, which they hope will bring new investment and economic opportunities to the region.

The delegation's discussion was seen as an exciting development by local stakeholders, who are eager to see the benefits of this newfound attention for their region.
