Nagpur: Agrotech 2024 Showcases Innovative Agriculture, Boosts Farmer Prosperity with Cutting-Edge Technologies
Nagpur, March [Date]: Over 400 thousand farmers and stakeholders from across Maharashtra attended the two-day state-level agricultural exhibition Agrotech 2024, organized by Dr Punjabrao Deshmukh Agricultural University, Akola, and the state agriculture department. The event aimed to promote innovative agricultural practices, highlighting technology-driven solutions, organic farming techniques, and post-harvest value-addition systems.
The exhibition, set up over five grand domes, displayed a wide array of exhibits showcasing integrated farm management, animal husbandry, crop varieties, technical recommendations, complementary businesses, and agriculture-based innovations. This included cutting-edge technologies such as vermicompost preparation, organic farming methods, integrated pest management, water conservation techniques, high-density planting technology, and drone demonstrations.
The stalls were dominated by products from various government, semi-governmental, public, and private companies focused on sustainable agriculture and farmer prosperity. The event offered cost-effective agricultural technologies alongside live demonstrations of farming practices. Visitors could learn about village seed production, integrated nutrient and weed management techniques, watershed management, medicinal plant cultivation, and nursery gardens.
Key highlights included a special showcase for fruit processing industry exhibitors, who demonstrated value addition techniques such as jam-making, jelly-making, squash-processing, and pickling. The exhibition also featured live demonstrations of farming techniques, sale of organic products, processing technology displays, animal husbandry exhibits, and agricultural machinery demonstrations.
Experts from various institutions and organizations attended the event, including Dr Punjabrao Deshmukh Agricultural University Vice Chairman Sharad Gadakh and Maharashtra Legislative Assembly member Randhir Savarkar. Collector of Akola Ajit Kumbhar also participated in the exhibition to promote agriculture development in the region.
Agrotech 2024 featured a comprehensive array of displays showcasing some of the state-of-the-art technologies, innovative crop varieties, animal husbandry systems, and organic farming practices that aim to revolutionize agriculture in Maharashtra.
