Nadikkair Postponed Indefinitely Amid OTT Rights Disputes
Malyalam film Nadikkair, directed by Lal Jr and starring Tovino Thomas, made its theatrical debut on May 3rd but has sparked disappointment among fans as its Netflix streaming was postponed indefinitely.
According to reports, the delay is attributed to disagreements between the makers of the movie and Netflix over renegotiating the streaming rights price. The film's poor box office performance and mixed reviews are believed to have influenced the negotiations, where the parties could not come to an agreement on a reasonable price.
Despite this setback, fans of Tovino Thomas can look forward to watch the film's official trailer, which has been released recently. The movie is about the journey of David Padikkal, an egotistical film star played by Tovino Thomas, as he goes through diminishing stardom and resolves personal issues in search of redemption.
"Nadikkair", starring Tovino Thomas alongwith an ensemble cast including Bhavana, Soubin Shahir, Suresh Krishna, and others is a story that combines comedy with emotional undertones and ponders over the struggles of fame and redemption. The soundtrack was composed by Yakzan Gary Pereira and Neha Nair while Cinematography was handled by Alby.
With an average rating of 5.4/10 on IMDb, Nadikkair did not experience a spectacular commercial success at theaters but is anticipated to attract new viewers via Netflix in the coming months.
