MUMBAI: IFFI Set to Launch IFFIESTA, A Festival of Films, Food, and Fun
The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is gearing up for its 2024 edition with a new initiative, IFFIESTA, aimed at celebrating films, food, art, and community interaction. This entertainment extravaganza will unfold at the scenic Kala Academy on the waterfront of Panjim, Goa, from November 21 to 28, as announced in a recent press release.
IFFIESTA promises a vibrant mix of cultural experiences with performances by 11 traditional dance troupes, showcasing the rich tapestry of India's cultural diversity. Food lovers are in for a treat with a specially curated food zone featuring dishes from 15-20 renowned local and national eateries, offering a culinary journey through India's gastronomic heritage.
In a nod to the influence of fashion in cinema, the festival, in collaboration with the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), will host a fashion show. This event will celebrate six decades of Indian cinema, presenting iconic film-inspired designs that highlight the intersection of film and fashion.
The festival will also feature an immersive audio-visual presentation from the National Museum of Indian Cinema, taking visitors on a historical and contemporary tour of Indian cinema's evolution.
Film enthusiasts will not be left out, as IFFIESTA introduces the Zomato District Entertainment Arena. Here, attendees can interact with celebrities through meet-and-greets, Q&A sessions, and social media engagements. The arena will also be a hub for daily live entertainment, including music performances, DJ sets, and stand-up comedy, ensuring a festive atmosphere throughout the event.
IFFIESTA is set to be a landmark addition to the IFFI, fostering a sense of community and celebration around the cinematic arts, promising an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
