MTV Europe Music Awards Celebrates 30 Years with Star-Studded Lineup in Manchester

Manchester, England - The 30th MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) kicked off tonight at the newly opened Co-op Live venue, with British singer Rita Ora returning as host for the third time. The event promises a night of spectacular performances and high fashion as stars gather to celebrate three decades of music excellence.

Scheduled performers include Benson Boone, Le Sserafim, Shawn Mendes, Peso Pluma, Pet Shop Boys, RAYE, Teddy Swims, Tyla, and The Warning, ensuring a diverse showcase of musical talent.

In a highlight of the evening, the Global Icon Award will be bestowed upon Busta Rhymes, celebrated for his groundbreaking contributions to hip hop with tracks like "I Know What You Want" and collaborations including the Pussycat Dolls' "Don't Cha."

The EMAs, originally planned for Paris last year, were canceled due to the Israel-Hamas conflict, making this year's uninterrupted ceremony a significant return for the awards show, which will be broadcast live in 150 countries on MTV.

Taylor Swift, this year's leading nominee with seven nods, will not be in attendance as she supports her partner Travis Kelce at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. However, other nominees including Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Charlie XCX, and Sabrina Carpenter, all with five nominations each, are expected to bring their A-game.

The night will also feature presentations by celebrities like Aaron Taylor Johnson, Gavin Rossdale, and Jodie Turner-Smith. A poignant moment will honor the late Liam Payne, who tragically passed away last month following an accident in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

As stars continue to arrive, the red carpet is already showcasing some of the most glamorous fashion statements of the year, setting the stage for an unforgettable night of music and celebration.
