Morepen Labs Enters Weight Management Market with 'LightLife' Program
Mumbai, Dec 12: Morepen Labs, a leading API player and manufacturer of health devices, announced its foray into the weight management market with the launch of its 'LightLife' program on December 10. The company aims to tap into India's emerging weight management market, which is expected to grow to $52.3 billion by 2032.
The 'LightLife' program combines international ingredients that promise clinical efficacy in managing weight and offers a comprehensive solution for individuals looking to lose weight. The program includes nutrition drinks, on-the-go meals, and live tracking of health parameters through an app.
"We are excited to launch our weight management program, LightLife, which promises safe and effective solutions for Indians who are struggling with obesity," said Varun Suri, Managing Director of Morepen Labs. "Our research indicates that there is a growing need for efficient and sustainable weight loss solutions in India."
The company cites data from the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5), which states that 23% of Indian men and 24% of Indian women are overweight or obese. This leads to higher risks of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and joint issues.
"Our product promises results without crash diets or harmful fads, or complicated regimens," added Suri. The 'LightLife' program is priced at Rs 599, which includes live 24x7 tracking, guided diet, and counselling on one's health journey.
Morepen Labs' foray into the weight management market comes at a time when the global economic impact of obesity is projected to rise from $1.96 trillion in 2020 to $4.32 trillion in 2035, according to Statista. Obesity has been ranked fourth, behind mental health, cancer, and stress, in a 2023 survey conducted across 31 countries.
