Mohanlal or Anil Kapoor: Which Actor Did Nana Patekar Think Delivered the Most Restrained Performance in Ranbir Kapoor's Blockbuster Film Animal?

Nana Patekar, known for his candid opinions, shared his thoughts on Ranbir Kapoor's blockbuster film Animal in a recent interview. The veteran actor expressed that he found every performance in the film exaggerated, except for Anil Kapoor's.

While promoting his upcoming film Vanvaas, Nana sat down for an interview with his fellow actor Anil Kapoor. During the conversation, Nana revealed his reluctance to watch Animal but eventually agreed because of Anil's presence in the film. The Krantiveer actor recalled: "I saw Animal and I called you and said, 'I watched Anil-mal.' You are the only person who delivered a restrained performance in the film. Everybody else’s acting was heightened."

Anil Kapoor had earlier spoken about drawing from personal experiences to portray his character in the film along with Ranbir Kapoor's portrayal of his on-screen father. He also praised Animal's director Sandeep Reddy Vanga for bringing together talented actors like himself and Ranbir Kapoor through casting choices.

The film, starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role, was a subject of much discussion among audiences due to criticism from certain sections regarding glorified toxic masculinity and violent behavior.
