Modi Receives Warm Welcome at Rio de Janeiro Airport

New Delhi, [Date] - Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed gratitude for a memorable welcome he received in Rio de Janeiro during his visit to Brazil. Posting on his X handle, PM Modi shared a video of his arrival at the airport and the enthusiastic reception from the Indian community.

The Prime Minister is currently participating in the G20 Summit, hosted by Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, and was warmly welcomed by local Indians upon landing. The crowd at the airport waved Indian flags, displayed pictures of PM Modi, sang welcome songs, and even presented him with folk dance performances and sought his autograph.

In a statement on X, PM Modi wrote: "A celebration of Indian culture in Brazil! Gratitude for a memorable welcome in Rio de Janeiro... Deeply touched by the warm and lively welcome from the Indian community upon arriving in Rio de Janeiro. Their energy reflects the affection that binds us across continents."

Following his visit to Nigeria earlier this month, where he met with Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to discuss strengthening partnerships in key sectors, PM Modi now looks forward to productive talks at the G20 Summit.

India is a member of the G20 Troika alongside Brazil and South Africa, and has been actively contributing to discussions. The Prime Minister will put forward India's positions on critical global issues, building on previous declarations from both the G20 New Delhi Leaders' Declaration and Voice of the Global South Summits hosted by India in recent years.

On the sidelines of the summit, PM Modi is expected to meet various world leaders and engage in bilateral discussions with key nations. His visit also includes travel to Georgetown, Guyana, where he will hold talks with President Mohamed Irfaan Ali and other senior leaders.
