Modi Receives Heartwarming Welcome in Rio de Janeiro

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude for a memorable welcome in Rio de Janeiro, where he recently arrived to participate in the G20 Summit. The warm reception by the Indian community, described as "a celebration of Indian culture", was befitting of the occasion.

The Prime Minister shared a video on his X handle showcasing the enthusiastic welcome at the airport, featuring waving flags, singing songs, and traditional folk dances. Many fans sought his autograph, which he happily provided.

"This is how the energy looks! Deeply touched by the warm and lively welcome from the Indian community upon arriving in Rio de Janeiro," PM Modi posted on X, highlighting the love that binds him and his people across continents.

Prior to his arrival in Brazil, Modi held discussions with Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, focusing on strengthening partnerships in sectors such as defence, technology, health, and education. He also landed in Brazil saying he looks forward to engaging with world leaders at the G20 Summit.

As a key member of the G20 Troika alongside Brazil and South Africa, India has been actively shaping the discussions at the ongoing summit. The Prime Minister will put forth India's positions on various global issues based on outcomes from the G20 New Delhi Leaders' Declaration and Voice of the Global South Summits hosted by India in two years.

During the summit, Modi is expected to meet several world leaders. After the G20 Summit, he will visit Georgetown for a historic visit to Guyana, last done by an Indian PM since 1968. MODI will hold bilateral discussions with Guyanese leaders and participate in the Second CARICOM-India Summit.

These visits highlight India's commitment to its relationships with Brazil and Guyana, showcasing the country's diplomatic reach and strong ties with countries around the globe.
