Modi Embarks on Historic Three-Nation Tour to Strengthen Ties with Nigeria, Brazil, and Guyana

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a six-day, three-nation tour of Nigeria, Brazil, and Guyana starting from November 16, according to a statement released by the government. This diplomatic visit aims to strengthen strategic partnerships, foster bilateral ties, and expand economic cooperation with these nations.

During his maiden visit to Nigeria, Modi will engage in talks with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on November 16-17, marking the first time an Indian Prime Minister has visited the country in 17 years. The discussions are expected to focus on reviewing India-Nigeria strategic partnerships and exploring new avenues for cooperation.

Following his stopover in Nigeria, Modi will head to Rio De Janeiro in Brazil for a three-day visit from November 18-19. He will attend the G20 Summit, which is being hosted by President Luis Inacio Lula Da Silva, and furtherIndia’s positions on critical global issues. The PM's engagement at the summit aims to build upon the outcomes of earlier summits held in India.

On the sidelines of the G20 Summit, Modi is likely to meet several leaders, including other world dignitaries.

In a remarkable gesture of goodwill, President Muhammadu Bola Tinubu invited his Indian counterpart for a state visit to Guyana. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's six-day tour will also include a state visit to Guyana from November 19-21, marking the first visit by an Indian PM since 1968. The trip is a significant moment in strengthening bilateral ties with these nations and shaping India's global presence.
