Modi Champion of Technological Development

New Delhi, January 5: Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a "champion of technological development" while addressing the 40th Foundation Day celebration of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) in New Delhi.

The minister made the announcement that Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), affiliated to the Ministry of Science and Technology, India, has successfully developed an indigenous technology to produce Paracetamol, a widely used pain reliever and fever reducer. This innovation aims to make India self-reliant in Paracetamol manufacturing by reducing dependence on imported raw materials.

Karnataka-based Satya Deeptha Pharmaceuticals Ltd will utilize this breakthrough to produce affordable Paracetamol domestically. Currently, India imports key raw materials for Paracetamol from various countries, which the CSIR initiative seeks to address.

The development of indigenous technology to produce Paracetamol aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Atmanirbhar Bharat" (self-reliant India) vision. Dr. Jitendra Singh praised the team at DSIR on their 40th Foundation Day and congratulated them on the transfer of 16 more technologies under the campaign, which also includes collaborations with industry partners to scale up innovation.

The minister also acknowledged the significant work being done in various areas of technology development and stressed the need for collaboration among government agencies and private sector organizations. Dr. Singh highlighted Prime Minister Modi's leadership style, crediting him for prioritizing innovation and entrepreneurship, which has led to India becoming a leader in technological advancements.

In his address, he also paid tribute to ISRO for its recent SPADEX mission, a landmark achievement that has made India leaders among nations capable of developing advanced docking technologies. Dr. Singh emphasized the need for synergy between government agencies and stressed the importance of adopting Whole of Government and Whole of Science approaches to achieve technological development goals.

Among other key accomplishments include technology transfers with industry partners under Laghu Udyog Bharati, a registered all-india organization of MSME, India.
