"Modi Calls for Unity Against 'Anti-Nationals' Amidst Threats to India's Integrity"

Ahmedabad, November 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday appealed to the citizens of India to unite against "anti-nationals" who are trying to divide the society along various lines, including caste, religion, and region, in order to achieve their vested interests.
Addressing a virtual gathering of devotees at Vadtal in Gujarat's Kheda district, Modi stressed the importance of unity and integrity in making India a developed nation by 2047. However, he noted that some individuals are trying to exploit differences among citizens for personal gain or out of narrow-mindedness.
"We have to understand the seriousness of their intentions and unite to defeat them," Modi said, emphasizing the need for citizens to come together against those who seek to undermine national unity.
The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of "atmanaribharta" (self-dependence) as the first step towards India's development. He invited all saints of the Swaminarayan sect to join citizens in the pledge to make India a developed nation.
Modi recounted his association with the Vadtal Swaminarayan Temple's 200th anniversary celebration, stating that his connection dates back to his days as Gujarat's chief minister. The Centre had recently issued a commemorative coin marking this significant milestone.
During his address, Modi highlighted Lord Swaminarayan's role in reviving India's self-respect and spiritual energy during a time of national weakness. He also emphasized the significance of preserving India's cultural heritage, citing his government's commitment to the mantra "Vikas Bhi Virasat Bhi" (development along with preservation of heritage).
The Prime Minister urged the Swaminarayan sect to spread awareness about India's revered festivals, like Kumbh Mela, and to encourage foreigners to participate in the celebrations. He predicted that skilled Indian youth would be in high demand globally in the future.
As the country prepares for the upcoming Purna Kumbh Mela, set to take place between January and February next year in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, Modi appealed to the saints to involve their temples in promoting awareness about this event worldwide.
