Mizoram's Healthcare Sector Reaches New Heights with 8 Government Facilities Ranked Among Best in Country

Aizawl, March [Year]: Eight government health facilities from Mizoram have been ranked among the best-performing public hospitals in the country under the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS), a testament to the state's dedication to improving its healthcare infrastructure.
According to Lily Chhakchhuak, state mission director of the National Health Mission under the health & family welfare department, the recently accredited facilities include Kawnpui Primary Health Centre (PHC) with an accreditation score of 91.42%, Pangzawl PHC with a rating of 96.26%, and several other healthcare centers performing exceptionally well.
With this latest recognition, Mizoram now boasts 19 PHCs and 3 Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs) that have earned the NQAS national certification. Furthermore, 12 additional government health facilities that have already secured state-level certification are currently undergoing the national assessment process.
Health minister Lalrinpuii welcomed the achievement, hailing it as a milestone for Mizoram and praising the hard work and dedication of doctors and healthcare professionals who have played a crucial role in this success. This recognition marks an important step forward for the state's commitment to providing quality healthcare services to its citizens.
