Minister Rijiju Pushes for Implementation of 'One Nation, One Election' System
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has emphasized the importance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for "One Nation, One Election," a system that aims to bring about unprecedented progress in India. The Minister revealed that a comprehensive report on this system, prepared under the leadership of former President Ram Nath Kovind, is set to be presented in Parliament shortly.
According to Rijiju, the key principle behind "One Nation, One Election" lies in holding elections every five years, followed by uninterrupted working periods for a similar duration. This system, he argued, is essential for India's development and growth.
Rijiju stressed the importance of uniform voting across the nation, highlighting that as one country, we need a single electoral process that applies uniformly across the board. He also announced that multiple bills would be introduced in Parliament on November 25, with discussions on "One Nation, One Election" expected to be part of the agenda.
The proposed system is seen as an ambitious initiative aimed at streamlining India's electoral landscape and fostering national unity. With the current Parliament session set to begin on November 25, hopes are high that this vision for a unified election system will be brought to fruition, marking a significant step forward in shaping India's future.
