Minister Assures Development in Pulwama Amid High-Demand for Revitalizing Infrastructure

SRINAGAR, MAY 26: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, Science & Technology, Information Technology, and Youth Services & Sports Satish Sharma held a critical meeting with a delegation from the Traders Federation Pulwama to discuss major issues affecting the town's infrastructure and economic activity.
Led by legislators Ghulam Mohidin Mir and Showkat Gania, prominent traders and members of civil society presented their comprehensive list of demands that seek to address public safety concerns and bolster local commerce. Among the key points were:
- Revitalization of Old General Bus Stand Pulwama for improved access and boosting commerce
- Development of a Multi-Level Parking Complex and Commercial Spaces to enhance civic infrastructure
- Removal of illegal structures and encroachments in the area
- Modernization of Pulwama Sports Stadium with floodlights, repair of existing infrastructure, and improved seating arrangements to promote youth engagement
Satish Sharma assured the delegation that their concerns would be addressed promptly. He reiterated the government's commitment to restoring Pulwama's economic vibrancy, improving urban infrastructure, and creating opportunities for the youth.
"The government is fully aware of Pulwama's significance in the economic landscape of Jammu & Kashmir and is committed to taking necessary steps to ensure its inclusive development," Sharma said during the meeting.
Delegations from Tral also visited the Minister and presented their concerns related to the Food and supplies department, while sports coaches called on Satish Sharma regarding issues associated with the National Institute of Sports (NIS) for the Sports Council.
