MGCCC Introduces Comprehensive AI and Data Technology Program to Prepare Students for In-Demand Careers
In an effort to equip students with in-demand skills and enhance their employability prospects, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC) proudly announces the launch of its revamped AI and Data Technology program. Formerly known as the Data Analytics Technology program, this revamped curriculum places a strong focus on artificial intelligence (AI) applications in data inspection and predictive analysis.
Launched in response to the rapid growth of careers in artificial intelligence and data analysis, MGCCC's new program aims to provide students with comprehensive training in machine learning, natural language processing, and AI for computer vision. By equipping students with high-demand skills, the program prepares them to develop, maintain, and operate intelligent systems that can process and interpret vast amounts of data.
The introduction of this revamped program comes as the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that careers in data analysis are experiencing an accelerated growth rate, outpacing the national average. Analysts with expertise in AI applications can directly impact business outcomes and drive significant value for organizations.
According to Robin Hayes, instructor for the program, "This shift towards AI and Data Technology presents an incredible opportunity for our students to obtain enhanced skills that better align with industry requirements and emerging job opportunities."
MGCCC's revised degree pathway leads to an Associate of Applied Science in AI and Data Technology, equipping graduates with the necessary competitive edge to secure immediate employment upon graduation or transfer to a four-year college or university. For aspiring applicants eager to dive into hands-on data analysis, visualization, and AI technologies, MGCCC's enrolling process is now open for the Spring 2025 semester.
