Meghalaya CM Announces Large-Scale Development Initiatives in Kumbi
In a move aimed at boosting the lives of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has announced a slew of development initiatives worth an estimated Rs 2.5 crore in Kumbi, Terakhong.
During a public interaction event held at the Kumbi High School Ground, CM Singh emphasized the government's commitment to supporting IDPs and assured the timely organization of 'Go to Village' programs aimed at addressing their needs.
The Chief Minister also assured improvements to various infrastructure development projects including the Kumbi Market Shed, the speedy repair of the Kumbi-Wangoo Road, the upgradation of Terakhong Primary Health Centre into a Community Health Centre, and the establishment of a Fire Services sub-station in Kumbi.
In response to public demands, CM Singh also announced the launch of 'One Family One Livelihood', an initiative providing loans of up to Rs 10 lakh with a 30 per cent grant component to support displaced families in rebuilding their lives.
The event witnessed participation from several key ministers, as well as MLA's, and CM Singh followed the interaction by visiting Phubala to inspect the construction progress of pre-fabricated houses intended for IDP affected households.
