MASSIVE RUSSIAN ATTACK ON UKRAINE HITS NINE-STORY BUILDING, CLAIMS Eight LIVES AND DOZENS WOUNDED
A Russian drone and missile attack on a nine-story building in northern Ukraine's city of Sumy has left a trail of destruction and sorrow, with eight people killed and numerous others injured, officials announced on Sunday.
The devastating strike, described by Ukrainian officials as the largest in recent months, targeted a residential building approximately 40 kilometers from the Russian border. Unfortunately, two children were among those who lost their lives in the attack.
According to Ukraine's Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko, over 400 people were evacuated from the affected building after it was damaged in the strike. Rescuers subsequently conducted a thorough search, checking every apartment to ensure no one remained trapped in the rubble.
The scale of destruction caused by the attack has raised concerns about the safety and security of civilians in Ukraine. The incident marks a grave escalation in Russia's ongoing military campaign against the eastern European country, highlighting the need for urgent humanitarian assistance to those affected.
