Massive Forest Fire in Reasi District Intensifies, Threats Vast Areas

A devastating forest fire raged in the Bhaga village area of Reasi district near National Highway-144A, spreading a trail of destruction and posing an acute threat to nearby villages and the national highway. The blaze, which has been burning for several days, has engulfed hundreds of hectares of land.
Emergency firefighting teams from the Forest Department and Fire and Emergency Services cordoned off areas and are engaged in a fierce battle against the raging flames, fueled by dry weather conditions and strong winds. According to reports, the fire began at 4 pm yesterday.
Residents of nearby villages are worried as the fire has been creeping perilously close to residential areas. Authorities have acknowledged that efforts are ongoing to contain the inferno, although they have not yet declared it under control. The situation appears dire, with officials scrambling to put out the flames before any more damage is done.
Meanwhile, another major forest fire broke out in Pulwama district's Gusu village yesterday evening. Crews are working towards dousing efforts, but it remains to be seen when the fire will be fully brought under control. The entire region continues to face a grim situation due to severe weather patterns and wildfires that keep gaining momentum.
