Maruti Baleno Likely to Get New Top-Spec CNG Trim, Here's What We Know So Far
In a move to attract more customers in the Indian market, Maruti Suzuki is reportedly planning to launch a new top-spec CNG model in its popular Baleno lineup. According to recent reports, the company has not confirmed the details as of yet, but sources suggest that the upcoming trim might hit the market in the coming days.
The new top-spec CNG trim is expected to use the same engine option currently being used by the ongoing version, but customers can expect a reduced power output compared to the standard petrol model. The exact specifications of the new engine are not yet known, but it's likely that Maruti Suzuki will continue to offer a fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly option.
In terms of design, the upcoming CNG trim is expected to feature the same style statement as the existing Baleno, with a bold front fascia, integrated LED headlight units, round-shaped fog lamps, and notable features such as cruise control, auto-folding rearview mirrors, 360-degree camera systems, and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
The current CNG model in the Baleno lineup is only available in Delta and Zeta variants, which use a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 88 bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque when running on petrol. When converted to CNG, the engine offers a restricted output of 76 bhp and 98 Nm.
While no official confirmation has been made by Maruti Suzuki, this new development could provide a boost to sales for the Baleno in the coming days. The company's strategy to offer efficient fuel options such as CNG is likely to resonate with environmentally conscious customers, making it an attractive option for many in the market.
