Maha Government Conducts Large-Scale Drill at Thane's Kolshet Ground

In a large-scale exercise designed to test the state government's disaster preparedness and response capabilities, a comprehensive drill was conducted at Lodha Amara in Kolshet Ground, Maharashtra's Thane on Sunday.
According to an official statement released after the event, the drill began at 4:30 pm with the sounding of a siren, marking the start of a simulated air strike/bomb attack scenario. Following this, all planned activities were carried out effectively and smoothly, as per officials.
Citizens in the surrounding areas remained calm and composed upon receiving immediate instructions to evacuate the premises swiftly, moving to designated safe zones without any panic. The response from the public was observed to be exemplary, with everyone following the directions issued by authorities without disturbance.
The disaster management teams subsequently conducted a thorough search of the area, rescuing people perceived as 'injured' or 'trapped', and providing them with necessary first aid before safely evacuating them from the premises.
It is reported that various departments, including government revenue officials, health services, police personnel, Civil Defence forces, Home Guards, Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) personnel, Disaster Management teams, TDRF individuals, Fire Brigade members, Lodha Amara society's fire response team, security staff, and local residents all participated actively in the drill.
The objective behind conducting this large-scale exercise is to ensure effective coordination between state agencies and citizens during any potential disasters or crisis situations.
