MAGNITUDE 6: DRAGONSTRIKE IN UKRAINE LEAVES EIGHT DEAD AND DOZENS WOUNDED
A devastating drone and missile attack launched by Russia on Sunday left a trail of destruction in the Ukrainian city of Sumy, home to eight fatalities and dozens of injuries. This is deemed the largest attack of its kind in recent months by officials, highlighting the escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine.
According to Ihor Klymenko, Ukraine's Minister of Internal Affairs, among those killed were not only adult civilians but also two children living in a nine-story building situated 40 kilometers from the border with Russia. The attack came at an alarming toll on the city, as over 400 individuals managed to escape their burnt-out homes and sought refuge elsewhere.
As rescue teams scurried throughout the charred remains of the structure, they frantically searched every floor and room for any unaccounted survivors within the stricken building.
