Lawyer Rams Mercedes Car into Kachori Shop in Delhi, Leaving Six Injured
A disturbing incident took place at Fateh Kachori in Civil Lines, Delhi, where a speeding lawyer deliberately rammed his Mercedes car into a popular Kachori shop, leaving six people injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the lawyer, who has been identified as Parag Maini from Noida's Sector 79, was driving recklessly and lost control of his car. "It seemed like he was in a hurry," said a witness. "The next thing I knew, there were people screaming and crying for help."
The victims, who are said to be passersby, sustained mild to moderate injuries. The situation worsened when the Kachori shop's roof caved in due to the impact, leaving several customers trapped inside.
Police immediately intervened and took Maini into custody after receiving a complaint about the incident. His car was also seized by the police.
The police have registered a case against Maini under Section 279 (rash driving) and Section 337 (causing hurt by endangering life), with charges of negligence and culpable homicide. An investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected to emerge.
In a statement, Delhi Police Commissioner, Sanjay Agarwal, condemned the incident: "We have zero tolerance for such reckless behavior on our roads. The accused lawyer will be held accountable for his actions."
The authorities are urging citizens to exercise extreme caution while using public roadways and report any reckless driving to the nearest police station immediately.
The incident highlights a growing concern over speeding and accidents in Delhi, with many attributing it to increasing traffic congestion and loss of driver's attention.
