Lawyer Rams into Kachori Shop in Delhi, Six Injured
A shocking incident has left six people injured after a speeding Mercedes car was rammed into a popular street food stall at Fateh Kachori in the Civil Lines area of Delhi. The vehicle, driven by a local lawyer, collided with a Kachori shop early yesterday morning, sending debris flying and injuring six people. The victims were treated at a nearby hospital and are currently undergoing treatment for their injuries.
According to police sources, the motorist was identified as Parag Maini, 32, of Sector 79 in Noida, who has been taken into custody under charges related to rash driving and causing injury through negligence. Maini's Mercedes car has also been seized by the authorities.
An investigation is underway, and officers are trying to piece together what led up to the incident. Initial reports suggest that Maini was traveling at an excessive speed when he lost control of his car, which then rammed into the shop.
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has registered a case against Parag Maini under Section 279 of the Motor Vehicles Act (rash driving) and Section 337 of the Indian Penal Code (causing hurt by endangering life). Those injured in the incident are likely to be receiving compensation from the government, as per the law.
The incident highlights the importance of road safety, particularly for pedestrians and cyclists. Residents have expressed relief that nobody was killed in the accident, citing increased traffic congestion and speeding in areas like Fateh Kachori.
Further details are yet to emerge, but it is clear that the authorities will take necessary steps to prevent such incidents from happening again in the future.
