Lawyer Crashes Mercedes into Delhi Kachori Shop, Injures Six People
A dramatic incident unfolded in the Capital's Civil Lines area yesterday evening as a speeding lawyer careened his Mercedes car into a popular Kachori shop. The accident at Fateh Kachori left six people injured, with some of them sustaining serious injuries.
As per eyewitnesses, 34-year-old Parag Maini, a resident of Noida's Sector 79 who practices law, was behind the wheel and lost control of his vehicle on the narrow street in Civil Lines. The lawyer's speeding action sent shockwaves into the Kachori shop and its surrounding area.
Quick-thinking authorities rushed to the scene and shifted the injured patients to nearby hospitals. With six people critically hurt, authorities are trying their best to provide timely medical attention. "We received multiple accidents calls at 5:45 pm. We found five people with head injuries and one person suffered severe internal injuries," said a junior official accompanying Deputy Police Commissioner (North) Shashi Shanker.
Maini was taken into custody by the police immediately after taking control of the vehicle from the accused. His Mercedes has also been impounded by authorities.
A case under Section 279 of the Indian Penal Code (rash and negligent driving resulting in hurt or danger to life or person) and 337 of the IPC (causing hurt by endangering life or personal safety in public health) was registered against him.
