Kushwaha Shashi Bhushan Mehta Declared Winner in Panki Assembly Constituency, BJP Celebrates Victory
Ranchi, Jharkhand - Kali Charan Singh of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leading in the Panki Assembly constituency after a long battle for victory. Election results revealed that Kushwaha Shashi Bhushan Mehta, a two-term MLA from this seat, has defeated a strong rival but could not win against him.
Kashiyapa, a former contestant who contested this election as an independent candidate, held some prominent leads over the opposition parties and garnered votes on many counts.
"Kali Charan Singh won 74,321 seats out of 104 in Palamu constituency," said election officials. He secured 38,211 votes for the winning party, with Kushwaha Shashi Bhushan Mehta finishing second.
"This is a win-win situation for us as we had anticipated that Kali Charan Singh was likely to beat Kushwaha Shashi Bhushan Mehta and this result validates our faith," said Election CEO of Palamu district.
"However, though I couldn't lead in Panki constituency, the people have given tremendous support me throughout the election period which makes it possible for us to contest the elections with confidence." said Kashiyapa. The overall voter turnout percentage has crossed 65 percent and it saw an improvement over the previous years where around 58-66 % voters opted to exercise their right.
BJP secured a significant number of seats in this constituency despite facing opposition from various groups.
