KTM Brings Back Its Iconic Big Bike: 1390 Super Duke R Hits Indian Roads

Mumbai, India - In celebration of Children's Day, KTM has announced its highly-anticipated flagship hyper naked sport bike, the 1390 Super Duke R, is finally arriving in India after making a global debut last year. Priced at ₹22.96 lakh, this aggressive and powerful bike is sure to stir up excitement among motorcyclists.

The heart of the KTM 1390 Super Duke R beats with its signature V-twin mill, now boasting an impressive displacement of 1,350 cc, a significant bump from its predecessor. This potent engine pumps out a substantial 190 bhp and 145 Nm of torque, showcasing KTM's commitment to performance. The bike also features revolutionary new technology in the form of "cam shift," which enables the adjustability of valve timing mechanisms within the cylinder heads.

Riding on this powerful engine is the newer trellis chassis frame, complemented by the latest 48 mm WP Apex fork with compression, rebound, and preload adjustable options as standard. The monoshock has also been revised with separate functions for high and low speed adjustment, while the modern Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers work in tandem to deliver exceptional stopping power behind massive dual-320 mm discs.

In terms of design, the aggressive lines and radical styling evoke imagery reminiscent of bikes from years past. Key features include the new vertically stacked LED headlight, tank spoiler with winglets integrated into it for a menacing stance from the rear, and the reduced subframe cover which imbues the bike's appearance of raw masculinity and streamlined functionality.

Besides the extensive array of assist features typical to KTM offerings like lean-sensitive ABS, traction control, wheelie control, slide control, and more, this aggressive hyper naked also introduces a tyre pressure monitoring system as well as new ride modes - Performance and Track. These optional extras further enhance the riding experience with valuable tools such as Engineer Brake Control and advanced adjustability in its five-step wheelie control function.

A Flagship for India: Setting Benchmarks?

The arrival of KTM's newest flagship hyper naked, priced at an impressive ₹22.96 lakh (CBU), signals its dominance and a direct competitor to the global marquee brands operating under the Indian market umbrella. The question remains whether this offering will truly disrupt market expectations by setting high benchmarks for performance capabilities in an already congested sports segment.
