Khali Returns to Supercharge Punjab's Sci-Fi with Raduaa Returns
The Great Khali made a grand comeback as Mohammad Khan in Raduaa Returns, the highly anticipated sequel to the hit 2018 film Raduaa (Radio). The trailer launch at Mohali on Monday confirmed that the towering star has taken on yet another iconic role.
At the event, Khali, who stands at an impressive seven feet tall, showcased his comedic timing alongside writer-director Nav Bajwa, a man three inches shorter than the wrestling legend. Sources revealed that the chemistry between them was undeniable, and even a gentle touch from Khali left Naav turning bright red during filming.
Khali's role in Raduaa Returns not only drew international attention but also paved the way for him to venture into Punjabi cinema. The actor expressed gratitude to Nav Bajwa for introducing him to a world beyond Hindi or English films, stating that he "fell in love" with the script and appreciated Nav's humility as a filmmaker.
BN Sharma, who portrays HCL in the sequel, praised the VFX effects as "heartening," noting it took months of coordination to create such intricate scenes. The film boasted an impressive VFX team working on multiple fronts – from 30-40 terminals in various locations.
Two talented actresses, Mahira Sharma and Naman Hanjra, bring a blend of romance and science fiction to the table, with Sharma dubbeding her own dialogue for the second time and Hanjra playing AI robot KT. Both actresses are eager for audiences to witness Punjabi sci-fi cinema's real potential.
In attendance at the launch were several notable names from Punjabi cinema, including Jaswant Rathore, who mesmerized the audience with his Suniel Shetty impressions and even attempted to poke fun at Khali, earning compliments from the wrestling legend himself.
