Kerala Set to Revolutionize Tourist Experience with High-Tech Kiosks
Thiruvananthapuram, January 14, 2025: In a significant step towards enhancing the tourism experience in the state of Kerala, the government has announced plans to introduce high-tech tourist information kiosks at airports, railway stations, and other strategic locations.
Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Kerala Tourism and the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), these cutting-edge kiosks will provide tourists with quick, efficient, and user-friendly access to essential information, such as distances to major attractions, must-see sites, and tour packages.
The new kiosks, designed in collaboration with tech startups, are expected to be operational soon and will be strategically placed not only at traditional tourist hotspots but also at IT parks attractive to domestic travelers from the technology sector.
"We are upgrading our traditional information centers as they have become outdated. Our aim is to provide a seamless and memorable travel experience for tourists," said a government official.
The kiosks, which require minimal space and operate 24/7, will be multilingual, making them accessible to a wider range of users. In addition to providing essential information, the kiosks will also offer integrated services such as hotel bookings, cab arrangements, and railway ticketing, simplifying travel logistics for visitors.
Virtual reality tours are also expected to be added in the future, further enhancing the tourist experience.
Kerala Tourism's decision reflects its commitment to leveraging technology to redefine how tourists access information and plan their journeys.
