Karnataka Government Approves Rs 413.71 Crore Upgrade Project for Bengaluru's Government Hospitals under 'Brand Bengaluru' Scheme
Bengaluru: The Karnataka Cabinet on Thursday cleared a project to upgrade the hospitals operated by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) under the "Brand Bengaluru" scheme, allocating Rs 413.71 crore for the project.
The scheme aims to replace dilapidated buildings with new ones across all BBMP-run hospitals in the city. Under this initiative, as many as 22 dental hospitals and seven physiotherapy hospitals will also be established alongside upgrading 13 government hospitals to 30-bed facilities and five others to 50-bed healthcare centers.
According to Karnataka Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H K Patil, every government hospital run by the BBMP would undergo a transformation under the Brand Bengaluru scheme. The minister provided an update on the cabinet meeting, where the approval for the project was given.
The investment of Rs 413.71 crore will go towards transforming 18 healthcare facilities in the city into modern and well-equipped hospitals, which is expected to improve healthcare services in Bengaluru.
