Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Declared Winner at 2025 Sportstar Aces Awards

Bhubaneswar: The prestigious Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar was honoured with the top award for promoting sports and games at the 2025 Sportstar Aces Awards held in Mumbai on February 14, 2025. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT and KISS (Kiss Institute for Craniofacial and Visual Sciences), received the accolade during the ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Samanta expressed his gratitude to Sportstar for naming KIIT DU as the winner for the second consecutive time after 2022. The esteemed sports personalities, including multiple-time chess champion Viswanathan Anand, attended the event.
Under KIIT’s umbrella, both physical education and sports programmes complemented alongside academic studies, fostering nurturing of athletes. To date, the university has trained 23 Olympians, three Paralympians, eleven Arjuna Awardees, and one Khel Ratna Awardee – a testament to its sporting prowess.
As an organisation, KIIT-DU boasts of numerous accolades. In recent years, they won "Best Sports Facility" award in the first CII Sports Business Awards 2023. Furthermore, their advanced sporting facilities garnered national recognition via awards including the Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar 2022 by the Government of India and the FICCI India Sports Award 2022.
KIIT has fostered a powerful association with international coaching expertise. The resultant athletes have gained great international success with over 200 sporting personalities having represented India at Olympics, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, and other top tournaments. So far, more than five-thousand athletes representing local, national, and international levels have been nurtured under KIIT-KISS’s advanced infrastructure offering quality sports facilities.
